Goalkeeper
Joe Hart (Dynamo Kyiv vs Manchester City) – $4,000
Even though Man City are away, I feel Hart is the best option in the goalkeeper position this week. The two games on Tuesday are incredibly hard to call, and all of them contain high priced keepers.
I would want to take the risk of paying up for a goalkeeper if I wasn’t sure of which way the result could go.
Of course, Man City are not guaranteed a win, but they will enter the game as favourites.
I wouldn’t expect them to keep a clean sheet, however I don’t think they will let more than 1 goal in. Hart should be able to pick up his points through some saves and a win bonus.
Defender
Felipe Luis (Atlético Madrid vs PSV Eindhoven) – $3,600
It seems as though most of the defenders on the slate are heavily overpriced. We are going to have to pay up for somebody, and the person who seems to represent the best value could be the Brazilian left back Felipe Luis.
In the 3 games he played during the group stages, Luis scored 7.5, 11 and 13 FPS respectively. Whilst these are rather modest totals, the full back has probably got the most favourable match ups of the highest priced defenders.
He should have plenty of chances to get forward and cross the ball, which as he showed in the group stages with a total of 18 crosses, he aims to do.
Atletico also have possibly the best chance of keeping a clean sheet, which would mean a bonus 3 points for Luis.
Midfielder
Arjen Robben (Juventus vs Bayern Munich) – $7,000
Even though he has a tough matchup against a very good defensive side in Juventus, I still feel the Dutch wideman is slightly underpriced and represents good value here.
He is one of the top players in the world and can score against anybody in the world.
If he is on his game, he should have no problem making value, even away in Turin. He only made 2 games during the group stages due to injury, which were both as a sub, but managed to grab a goal and assist, earning him 17.5 and 6 FPS in those games.
Forward
Antoine Griezmann (PSV Eindhoven vs Atlético Madrid) – $7,400
Outside of the elite priced forwards, I feel Griezmann is the best mid range forward on the slate. Again, there are many match ups which are hard to call in this slate, but Atletico have one of the more favourable ties.
If they are to win, you would expect Griezmann to be the most likely to get on the scoresheet.
He scored 4 goals in the group stages, and scored an average of 16.8 FPS in those 6 games.
