Goalkeeper
Keylor Navas (Real Madrid vs Roma) – $3,800
I think for this price you have to opt for Kaylor Navas this week.
He is the 7th highest priced goalkeeper on the slate, and to be honest I’m not sure why.
Madrid managed to keep a clean sheet in the first fixture in Rome, and take a healthy 2-0 lead into this leg.
Madrid do have a fairly leaky defence and they don’t keep too many clean sheets, but for this price I just cannot ignore Navas.
Defender
Christian Träsch (Wolfsburg vs Gent ) – $3,600
Träsch is everything you want in a defender.
He gets forward and crosses the ball but also picks up his fair share of peripheral defensive stats too.
In the reverse fixture he scored an impressive 12.5 FPS which included an assist.
In the 5 group games he appeared in he only scored below 13 FPS on two occasions.
Considering this game is at home and Wolfsburg have been in terrific form as of late, I would expect Trasch to have plenty of opportunities to score crossing points and easily make it to double figures.
Midfielder
Isco (Real Madrid vs Roma) – $4,500
I think for his price I like Isco this week, so long as he starts. He was terrific at the weekend against Celta Vigo, getting two assists on his way to a 26 FPS performance.
That should be enough to get himself into the starting 11 this week.
The only downfall of playing Isco is he very rarely plays the full 90 minutes, usually being subbed off around the 70 minute mark. However that could be more than enough time for Isco to meet and even excel his value.
He doesn’t get on the scoresheet too much but he often pops up with an assist or two and when his price is so low, an assist is a huge boost to your total score.
Forward
Diego Costa (Chelsea vs PSG ) – $7,000
Of course you will have to decide whether or not fading Ronaldo who was our pick for the reverse fixture is optimal again this week, but for me I see some value in Costa.
He was given a rest at the weekend and I can see him and Chelsea attacking this game from the off.
They trail 2-1 from the first leg so they know they must score to have any chance of advancing, and who is more likely to score for Chelsea right now than Costa?
