Goalkeeper
Fraser Forster – AFC Bournemouth vs Southampton – $3,800
I didn’t tip Fraser Forster last week despite his incredible recent form, which proved to be the right call as Chelsea beat Southampton 2-1.
In this game however, I think for the price, he represents some value again.
Bournemouth struggled to create many chance against Watford on Saturday.
Despite this being a fierce south coast Derby, I can only see Southampton controlling the game.
Defender
Martin Kelly – Sunderland vs Crystal Palace – $2,300
With Papa Souare suspended, Martin Kelly has been filling the void.
He was just $2,000 at the weekend against West Brom and scored a fairly modest 5 FPS in a game in which Crystal Palace only came to life in the second half. At this price, it’s not going to be hard for Kelly to make value, especially against a team sitting in 19th place.
Having said that, I don’t expect this to be an easy game for the London side, and I would not hold any hope of them coming away with a clean sheet.
But, Kelly should have opportunities to get in enough crosses and peripheral stats to easily make value.
Midfielder
Ross Barkley – Aston Villa vs Everton – $6,700
Last time Everton faced Aston Villa, Ross Barkley ran the show.
In a routine 4-0 win, Barkley notched 2 of the goals and assisted in one more, scoring himself 34.5 FPS.
This time around Villa are still bottom of the table and playing terribly, so there is no reason Barkley and Co can’t put in a similar result. Barkley was a recent top picks in the loss against West Brom. He is very much a hit and miss player, he has no consistency in DFS, but with this matchup and when you compare his price to those around him, he is definitely a great pick this week.
Forward
Charlie Austin – AFC Bournemouth vs Southampton – $4,200
With Shane Long most likely missing this game through injury, I would expect Charlie Austin to take the forefront in the Saints attack.
Since moving to the club in January, Austin has only one start and 3 cameo appearances off the bench, although one of those ended with the winning goal away at Old Trafford.
Austin proved himself to be a quality Premier League striker last year, so even with only 4 games to go by this season for DFS purposes, you can still safely pick Austin so long as he is starting.
