Guards
Kyrie Irving $8,000
Irving is possibly the only valid option sub-$9,000 right now on DraftKings.
In his 3 games before the break, Irving scored an impressive 54.25, 58.75 and 42.5 FPS.
He has the best matchup of the elite Point Guards (PG), coming up against the Chicago Bulls at home.
He is looking like he is finally back to full fitness so I would expect him to have another big game on Thursday night.
Rodney Hood $6,300
Being the second highest priced Shooting Guard (SG) on this slate, you would expect Rodney Hood to have a huge ownership coming up against the 30th best defence against SG’s in the Washington Wizards.
Hood is a very consistent DFS player, so he will fit into both your cash and GPP lineups, with him very likely to at least hit value.
His minutes rarely dip below the 30 minute mark and he consistently hits 20+ points a game, which is enough for me to take him in a pretty poor SG slate.
Forwards
Wesley Johnson $4,600
IF you are looking for a value play on the slate, Wesley Johnson could be that man.
He was hitting consistently good numbers before the All-Stars break as he became a key player in the Clippers rotation at Small Forward (SF).
He is usually good for 20+ FPS, even with his minutes only usually hovering around the 20 minute mark.
Playing Johnson will allow you to spend big elsewhere and there’s every chance he won’t be too highly owned.
LaMarcus Aldridge $6,900
Aldridge was on fire before the break, and looking at the Power Forward (PF) slate for Thursday evening, I don’t see anyone that would convince me not to opt for him to continue his form.
The last time he scored below 35 FPS was 30th January and he has been scoring points much more consistently in the last couple of months.
In his last 8 he has averaged 24.1 points with a 60.2% shooting rate from the field. He has a tough matchup tonight as the Clippers are the
5th best defence in the league against opposition PF’s, but I still feel confident that Aldridge will come back in the same vein of form he left off in.
Centres
Marcin Gortat $6,400
I think for his consistently and his price alone, Gortat makes the draft.
You can be pretty confident he will get you 30 points a night, which can’t be said of many centres, especially ones in the mid price range.
Gortat is a cash players dream, his floor is around the 25 mark and his ceiling is in the 40’s, you can’t ask for much more from someone who costs $6,400.
